Project Reveal: Modern Lake House Primary Bedroom

Today we are sharing Part 2 of our Modern Lakehouse Project featuring the primary bedroom space! Complete with tons of natural light and sweeping lake views, we got to work creating a beautiful interior space to make this a relaxing retreat for our clients. Scroll through to see the finished look of this full service project.

Shall we begin with the plaster fireplace? I specifically wanted a matte, almost concrete look for this wall, without the weight & maintenance of actual concrete. Plaster was the perfect choice and the color couldn't have turned out any better. There are mid-century touches all throughout the home. This space called for an Eames lounge chair & ottoman for beauty & functionality. It's walnut shell adds the right balance of warmth against the cool-toned fireplace.

Because there was plenty of space between the bed and tv wall, we opted for a sofa, as opposed to a bench at the foot of the bed for lounging & watching tv. We love the curved edges and rounded, modern design of this particular sofa we installed. As always we prefer to use 100% wool rugs if possible.

We incorporated a pair of linen-wrapped ottomans to finish off the lounging area. The cube ottomans can double as footrests or even a mini coffee table. (Quick tip: add a tray for remotes, glasses, etc.)

The white oak reeded accent wall is definitely the focal point of this room. I chose to keep the textiles and linens all neutral as to not take away from the large accent wall. As always, we installed our hand-picked accessories to style the shelves with in an organic color palette.

Because the room had a large hallway leading to the closet and primary bathroom, it needed some artwork with some presence to it. This black and white oversized artwork pair was just what we needed. It helped mirror the black windows spanning the side of the room and tie the two together.
